What is Ultimate?

Ultimate is a fast moving team sport played by thousands of people all over the world. It's easy to pick up but the strategies can become complex. Everyone can play and it's a great way of keeping fit and developing speed, stamina and agility.

Basic rules:

Ultimate is a game for two teams of seven players, played on a pitch of comparable size to a football field. The last 18 metres at each end are the 'endzones'.

A goal is scored by passing the disc to a team member standing in (or more likely running into) the endzone which your team is attacking.

Players cannot run with the disk. When a player catches the disk he or she must come to a stop. This means a team can only move upfield by throwing the disk to one another.

The defending team takes possession if the disk touches the ground or if they make an interception by catching the disk or knocking it to the ground in mid-flight.
